Before arriving in Oregon, I had to complete a table that I was building for my brother. The table has a steel base and the top is a 4 way tapered torsion box made out of walnut ply wood and solid walnut. This project was on my plate all through the fall and into the winter, but the last few months before leaving was when everything really came together.  It started as an idea, that my brother, Brian Christopher Edmonds (BCE), needed a table. Brian uses a wheelchair to get around and I wanted to design a table that would be user friendly for him.  After playing around with several different 3D models I came up with the idea of a cantilevered table.  That would give him the most room on one side to use the table, but still allow others to sit at the table too.  I also chose a metal base so I could further my metalworking skills.
