Class Photos and Student Work
Katherine truly enjoys teaching woodworking and design as part of her work. Particularly, sharing the thrill of making a creative idea into a 3D tangible product. As an operating partner, at Highland Woodshop, a community shop, Katherine teaches several times a week, helping members complete projects including, dining tables, desks, marquetry boxes, and even sharkcuterie boards! Katherine also teaches stand alone classes at Highland Woodshop, such as pyrography, and introduction to woodworking.
Katherine was a founding Steering Committee Member of the Tarweed Folk School in Corvallis, OR. She developed and built their website, helping Tarweed Folk School get off the ground, she continues to teach classes with the school as they are entering their second year of operation. Katherine also taught several staff training events, taught a skateboard building summer camp, and hosted several queer maker meetups in partnership with the MILL of Mid-Valley STEM CTE Hub, a maker space hosted on the LBBC campus. Teaching and partnering with these organizations has helped Katherine reach her goals of building local woodworking community in Corvallis.
